Writing an Article for a Car Magazine
By Buff on Nov 12, 2008 in Automotive
As a freelance copywriter, I’ve written about almost every topic imaginable. Most of the topics I know little about before I begin the article. But after I research the topic a little bit, I actually find the subject quite interesting. It’s one of the coolest things about being a freelance writer-I’ve learned a lot about the most random subjects imaginable.
So, I just got contacted by a fellow editor friend asking if I wanted to contribute an article to a local car and truck magazine. Keep in mind, I don’t know anything about trucks or truck accessories. Honestly, I don’t know the difference between a bull bar or ladder racks, but I’m excited to learn.
I guess my first question is-do any of you know of any good resources for me to start with? I need to have the first draft in the editor’s hands within 2 weeks. So, I need to find a couple of good magazines and books about today’s car and truck culture. If you know of anything good, please let me know.
Anyway, I think I’m going to head over to the local book store to check out some of the magazines and books they have. Hopefully, something will catch my eye so that I can come up with an interesting topic.
