So I have this poker site that I use to provide strategy advice to other poker players.  I have always felt that I have had very strong content, but my site does not rank very high on Google and other search engines.  I was talking to a webmaster friend of mine today and he told me that my problem centered on SEO optimization.

According to him, while my content is good, many of my articles are not containing enough keywords to move my site up the search engine ladder.  Great content will apparently only get you so far on search engines.  If your site does not contain the right keywords, then when people search for those keywords, they will not find your site. 

I decided to buy one of my friends SEO packages that he offers to businesses. His search engine optimization company works with various businesses to help them generate more traffic to their site.  My friend sat with me and worked with me on which keywords were relevant for my site and adjust the content on the site to make it more attractive to search engines. 

I have begun to see a difference in traffic to the site and my ranking on search engines.  In time, I hope that my site will be a trusted resource and eventually a money making endeavor.
