Dodged a Bullet

My girlfriend took me out to dinner last night because apparently she had a “big announcement” to tell me. Of course, my mind went to the usual directions–“I’m pregnant,” “I’m seeing someone else,” “I’m gay,” “I’m getting a sex change and running away to join a clan of traveling Romanian gypsies.” I’ve heard it all before so I came prepared. And wouldn’t you know it? She’s going to medical career college. I just can’t get a break.
But seriously, she’s planning to go to Sanford Brown Institute Philly, a medical career school in Trevose to study the mysterious and elusive subject of medical billing. I’ve heard her talk about medical billing programs for a while, but I never really understood it. Basically, she’d be learning how to code patients various medical expenses and communicate with their insurance companies or something along those lines. I never knew you actually needed certification for something like that, but this is supposedly a growing field.
It was a pretty uneventful night, but hey, at least I got a free dinner out of it. After the meal, we also rented a movie, Shoot ‘Em Up, which I encourage everyone to see at least five times. “Awesome” is too mild a word for such a film.
