The business of fashion
By Buffgirl on Feb 27, 2009 in Education
I have decided after a year and a half of businesses classes that maybe a career in business isn’t really what I want. While I might be good with numbers and have no problem grasping the most complicated business terms, I don’t particularly enjoy the subject. And lately I’ve been finding that I have to drag myself to my classes. And once there I spend a good portion of my time doodling and trying to stay awake. I’m thinking maybe I need a change.
I’ve always enjoyed sewing and trying out the latest fashion. School has always been something I have to do so I can get home and create. So I figured maybe I should actually look into taking some courses at a fashion design school. I’m self taught and I know that learning from an accredited program will be beneficial.
The way I see it, people will always need clothes. It’s a necessity. By taking courses at a reputable design school I will get the professional training that I need for a career in fashion. Coupled with what I have already learned through my business courses I will be in the prime position to open my own design business.
