Celebrating Our Centennial with a Party

Most of us will never live to see our hundredth birthday, but for many of us, the cities and towns that we are living in right now are having their centennial. Being around for a hundred years is quite an achievement and therefore deserves a fitting celebration.
I volunteered to be on the planning committee for the centennial of our town. Though there are only 400 residents, it is a time for us to celebrate those that have came before us and the fact that our town has endured over the past 100 years. It is quite an achievement when you consider that there are four towns within ten miles that didn’t make it, and they sit as empty ghost towns.
So, when we decided to throw a birthday bash, we knew it was going to have to be big. We decided that we would have events throughout the entire day, culminating with a dance at night. It was decided that we were going to cater to the younger crowd for the dance, so we had to look into getting a LCD projector rental and audiovisual rentals to get the necessary equipment to put on a good show.
It will be awesome to see it all come together in just a couple of weeks and I hope that it will be the event of the century.
