Cleaning Your Hot Tub

Even a cheap hot tub is a significant investment, and therefore it is important to take good care of it, in order to maximize the life of your hot tub spa.
It is not difficult to clean your spa, particularly if you take good care of it and keep it covered when not in use. This prevents things like leaves blowing into it and needing to be removed or potentially causing damage.
Cleaning your hot tub involves two main things. First of all, it is important to remove debris such as leaves frequently, as they can reduce the efficiency of the circulation system and make the jets not work as well. If the debris gets past the baskets for some reason, it could even do some damage to the inner workings of the hot tub, requiring someone to come out and repair it for you. They make vacuums and other tools for removing debris quickly and efficiently.
The other thing you will want to do is periodically drain the hot tub, clean all surfaces, and fill it with new, fresh water and chemicals. Clean surfaces means the water stays clear and fresh for longer, and of course helps keep the hot tub running and looking in tip-top condition.
Don’t underestimate the importance of regularly cleaning your hot tub. A well-cared for hot tub is a much better investment than a poorly cared-for one!

Even though it may seem like wasting water by draining the tub, it really needs to be done. I have a hard time keeping the chemicals balanced if I don’t drain it about 1/2 way once a month.

Hi. Do you know how much hot tubs cost? What is a good price range to judge quality? I am interested in purchasing one and would like to make sure it is a good one.

I know they can be quite expensive, it is like buying a mini pool. Much easier to take care of though.
