Helping Our Children Hear Better
By BBwriter on Jul 24, 2009 in Health
Every parent hopes that their child is healthy when they are born and that they have no health problems in their lifetime. But, the truth of the matter, no one is perfect, and from time to time, our children have some health issues.
We thought that we were going to avoid having any problems with our children as both Alex and Bradley didn’t seem to have any problems. Since the moment they were born, they both were healthy and happy which is what we wanted for them.
But that ideal state didn’t last forever. We noticed that Alex wouldn’t respond when we tried to talk to him on some occasions. At first, we thought he was ignoring us, but it quickly became apparent that he wasn’t and that there might be an issue there.
We took our children to the doctor to check their hearing and as it turned out, they both needed a hearing aid so that they could hear properly. They sure didn’t like them very much at first, but they quickly became accustomed to putting them on everyday.
I am just so very happy that their condition wasn’t the result of something a little more serious. If a hearing aid is all it takes to make them better, I think we can count ourselves lucky.
