It’s Probably Not Cancer

I love my boyfriend dearly but sometimes he drives me nuts. He specifically drives me nuts when it comes to medical issues. Whenever he gets a symptom he immediately thinks that he has the worst possible case of something that he could possibly have.
He’s the type of person who will get a bump or a mole and jump right to the conclusion that he has a fatal form of cancer. Instead of realizing that he has hemorrhoids or warts and getting simple hemorrhoids removal or warts treatment, he’ll panic and start making out a will. He’ll put off going to the doctor for days or weeks or in some cases even months because he doesn’t want to be told that he’s dying of cancer.
Eventually, of course, he goes to the doctor and finds out that he’s not dying and that treatment is simple. He laughs at himself because he got so crazy. But it doesn’t matter how many times this happens; the next time that he gets a symptom he goes right back to the same old problem of jumping to fearful conclusions. I’d tell him that I think he’s a hypochondriac but I’m afraid that he’d diagnose himself with some crazy psychiatric problem!
