Wake up Feeling Rested

When I wake up in the morning, I always feel sluggish and tired. Even after 8 hours of sleep, I drag myself out of bed and slug through the morning wishing I could climb back into bed and sleep another 8 hours. Sometimes, sitting in traffic, I find myself nodding off and jerking awake by the toot of a horn behind me. I’ve fallen asleep in meetings at work and at my kid’s basketball games. I realized that I needed to consult a doctor about being so tired.

After seeing my doctor and participating in a sleep study, I learned that I have something called sleep apnea. With the aid of a CPAP machine, I began correcting the issue. After reviewing pages and pages of CPAP supplies, I chose a sleep apnea machine that fits on my nightstand but doesn’t take up too much room. It has a battery backup and is travel size so when I go out of town for work I can take it with me. It takes some getting used to, sleeping with a mask over your nose and a machine working next to you. In the end, the noise becomes white noise and I sleep better with it on than without. I do wake up feeling perkier and more refreshed and am glad that I am dealing with the problem rather than ignoring my exhaustion.
