The small company I work for recently started a web site. It’s all part of our goal to grow the business, and internet marketing is a must in today’s market. I’m certainly not an expert when it comes to web site development. Obviously I could not create something from scratch, so I shopped around and found a web hosting service.

They did a wonderful job of creating a professional looking web site. They gave me various options to choose from, and all I had to do was click to choose the things I wanted on the various web pages. I have to say that I am proud of just how well it turned out.

So after patting myself on the back, I tried to find our web site on Yahoo. Well let’s just say that I didn’t find it very easily. I really had to narrow down the search, and even then I was still on the fifth page. I had no idea how to get our site up onto the first page, and had to admit to the owner that I had gotten into this a little over my head.

Her suggestion was to go back to Yahoo and search for how to get our site to the first page. So I did the search and found that it takes more than just having good high quality content and a good looking web site. Our web site didn’t have something that kept getting referred to everywhere I looked:  website links. I needed to find a way to get higher search engine rankings and the only way to do that was to find some professional link builders.

So we decided it was in our best interest to use the services of a link building company to take care of our link popularity deficiency. And it worked; right now when I search for our web site, we are on page one on both Yahoo and Google!
