Eagle Scout Project

One of the steps in the path to becoming an Eagle Scout is very daunting. You see, Eagle Scout candidates must plan, implement, supervise and document a service project. Let’s just say that this is a lot bigger than the old adage of helping a little old lady cross the street! This is by far the largest of any scout activities that a Boy Scout will do.
The first step is selecting a project. There are many resources out there that you can use to help. Obviously your scout leader can be a tremendous resource here. There is also many a scout website out there that can give you great ideas on which direction to go with this. Make sure you get all of the approvals you need ahead of time too! If you start your project before your district approves it the project may become ineligible.
Documentation is very important. Waiting until everything is all done and then documenting it will not work. In fact, the documentation process begins before you even select your project. Make sure you use all of the available checklists so that nothing gets overlooked and you should do just fine. Plus, double check all of your forms before you turn them in.
