How Vacations Benefit your Work

There are some people who insist that they don’t have the time to take a vacation. I would argue that if you’re busy with your work then you don’t have the time not to take a vacation. Vacations offer so many benefits to your work that you absolutely need to take them even when it feels like you’re just t0o busy.
I saw firsthand how failing to do this could end up causing you trouble in your work. We used to take a family vacation in Canada every year. My dad was often “too busy” to go with us. We’d go on our vacations to Canada and he would stay home and keep working. It cost him time with his family, time to relax, time to get re-inspired and eventually he burned out so it also cost him his job.
Vacations replenish you. They remind you of the fun, relaxing life with your loved ones that you’re working so hard to have. They show you new things and give you a fresh perspective. Vacations make you feel ready to work. They give you the time out that you need to actually keep going. These benefits are not just perks of a vacation; they’re the reason that vacations are absolutely necessary for all busy people.
