Apparently, aftermarket iPhone ringtones are pretty much a necessity for any iPhone owner: According to some reports, the iPhone comes with some pretty crappy ringtones.  As a commenter on the article points out, there are always kinks that need to be worked out anytime you have a new product or technology.  However, that doesn’t mean you have to put up with boring ringtones!

Cingular and AT&T phones are known for offering a pretty poor selection of ringtones on their phones.  Most of us have heard these ringtones, because a lot of people have them.  However, if you don’t want your phone to sound just like everyone else’s, you do have options!

Whereas a few years ago ringtones were only available from the phone’s service provider (and then only if you had a certain model), you can now download ringtones from many different sites.  These providers have ringtones for all different sorts of phones, so you can get AT&T or Cingular ringtones for your iPhone.  This is great for cell phone users who want their phone and ringtones to express their individuality.
