Powerpoint Tips that Improve your Presentation
By buffY on Feb 21, 2008 in Technology
You have to put together a powerpoint presentation and you’re afraid that it’s going to look exactly like the last one that you did (and a lot like the one before that!) Luckily, there are some simple things that you can do to easily improve the appearance of your project.
Here are some powerpoint tips to keep in mind when completing your presentation:
- Heavy on the images, light on the text. People don’t really want to read too much so plan to just give them some basic bullet points and then tell them the rest of what you want them to know.
- Video is hot. Learn to incorporate YouTube videos into your powerpoint presentations.
- Use custom powerpoint templates. Instead of using free powerpoint templates, foot the bill to get a great design that’s all your own.
- Include a Question Slide. You want to get your audience interacting with you so that they don’t fall asleep while you’re speaking.
- Be repetitive. You don’t want to get boring but you do want to be memorable. Come up with a slogan or phrase that sums up your point and use it again and again throughout the presentation.
Powerpoint presentations are fairly straightforward. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to be boring. Spice it up a little bit and you’ll find that people might actually listen to what you have to say.
