The Easiest Way to Store and Scan Documents
By BBwriter on Apr 24, 2009 in Technology
I will have to admit that I am not much of a techie, but technology is a fact of life, and I have relied on it more and more as I get older. Though frustrating, it can make life a lot easier, provided you know what you are doing.
A good example would be the results of our recent home renovations. You see, my wife wanted to take over a portion of my office to use as her sewing room, and she suggested (okay, strongly hinted) that my file cabinets had to go.
The problem with that is that I had years upon years of files in them, and I wasn’t really ready to give them up. So, I needed to figure something out that would make my wife happy and let me keep every little page I had saved over the years.
Though I had initially considered self-storage, I decided against it as I wanted to be able to search my collection effectively. This meant that I was going to have to find some document management software for my computer.
Thankfully, one of my best friends works for a local document imaging company and he was able to get me exactly what I needed.
Though I have a ways to go, I know that in the next couple of weeks, I will be able to search my collection of documents easily - I can’t wait. Oh yeah, my wife will get her sewing room.
