Coming August 3, 2010 is the 141st Boulder County Fair and Rodeo , the oldest county fair in Colorado. The Boulder County Fair runs through to August 7th, four days shorter than last year; leaving 5 exciting, jam packed days filled to the brim with fabulous activities, fun attractions, great fair food, regional livestock, crafts, plus the parking is free, gate admission is FREE and there’s plenty of free activities and concerts, which makes this County Fair a ‘must do’ event for the entire family. If visiting from out of town, it’s not too late to book a room at any of the best hotels Boulder can offer. And remember every day is kid’s day, with scavenger hunts, storytimes, hands-on activities, coloring corner, Kid’s Corner Corral and animals, animals everywhere.
This years County Fair was streamed back from nine days to five, which will exponentially improve the fair-goers experience, because most people come for the 4-H animals and the rodeo, which happens later on. Each year the fair’s board has continually improved upon the County Fair, by listening to the input given by all the fair-goers of previous years. The improvements, including reducing the days the County Fair and discontinuing charging an admission fee at the gate at the same time offering free parking, has increased the attendance by 10,000 people per year.
For all the cowboy fans, there is new bleacher seating in front of the Fairground’s large Corral Arena, where the cowboys and horses compete in steer roping, trick roping, trick riding, cowgirls on horseback and all the other classical exciting Rodeo stuff. For all the Carnival rides fans, there will be a great assortment of amazing new Carnival Rides to choose from, leaving the kids shaken, chilled, stirred and loaded up with cotton candy. For the rockers in the bunch, you’ll not be disappointed with the rock-n-roll line up for this years entertainment. You and 100,000 will love all that the Boulder County Fair has to offer, especially the funnel cake.
