Making a Child’s Wish Come True
By BBwriter on Sep 30, 2009 in Travel
As a father, my child’s happiness is at the heart of many things that I do. Sometimes it means putting my needs second to theirs, but if I can help make them happy, it is worth it.
Now, before I get too far into this, I should maybe clarify what I mean by “making them happy.” I mean that I will make an effort to fulfill any kind of reasonable request that they make, but I will not spoil them because that would be wrong.
A good example would be something that my daughter asked me in the spring. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie and she saw people swim with dolphins. She asked if we could do that sometime, and I said I would see if we could.
I had to do some research and I was able to find a trip that we could afford. Since I am a single parent, that sometimes isn’t an easy task. But, I was able to take her to swim with dolphins in Tortola. She had a wonderful time, and I don’t think that I have ever seen her smile so big in her life.
Though some people might think I spoil her, I just see it as making her wishes come true. Isn’t that how every father wants their daughter to be treated?
