San Diego Tide Pools

A tide pool can be a metaphor for anything that can happen in a life. Some of the first memories of children growing up near the ocean revolve around the first time they discovered a hermit crab crawling out of the rocks when the tide was low enough. It’s a startling sight for anyone, but it’s better to see it than to feel it. For children, it affects the imagination in a profound way, revealing that there is always more beneath the surface than can be seen.
In San Diego, tide pools are plentiful, and for those looking to spend an afternoon meditating on the transitory nature of all things, there is a lush menu of beaches to choose from. Favorite spots are everywhere, and like the tide pool itself, they can change in an afternoon. A place that once held life goes vacant for awhile, only to find that there is always infinitely more opening up in other directions.
A visit to the city, in a San Diego boutique hotel can make any dull moment in a life into a charming act of simply living and breathing. There are also those moments when the tide pool might reveal that the hidden things beneath the surface are busy bringing things back to life.
